The Christian Motorcyclists Association is a nonprofit organization totally supported by motorcyclists and enthusiasts who believe in Jesus Christ, believe in this ministry, and give sacrificial gifts of love. Founded in 1975, CMA now has had over 119,000 applications for membership and more than 915 chapters chartered in the United States. CMA is also represented in 22 other countries around the world.
The main purpose of the Christian Motorcyclists Association is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with motorcyclists. This is achieved by attending motorcycle rallies, tours, races, etc. and conducting worship services at these events whenever possible. Another way of reaching the lost is by going and serving them through handing out free water and coffee, ministering to the children, and helping those in need. Thousands have turned to Christ through the evangelistic ministry of CMA.
CMA uses a portion of the Run for the Son monies to assist in the printing and distribution of multitudes of tracts, New Testaments, the Spoke-N-Word (Gospel of John), and paper cups with the message of the Gospel printed on them. These cups are used to distribute the “free” water and coffee at races and rallies, with the hope of making a major impact at major events that hundreds of thousands of bikers attend.
This percentage used to minister to bikers in the United States is specifically used to take the Gospel to searching people in the various ways described above. Over the past nineteen years, Run for the Son has provided 9.5 million towards Home Missions.
For more than 25 years, the film JESUS has been shown to almost 5.5 billion of people around the world in a language they can understand. Now, more than ever before, people can see the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ unfold before them. JESUS breaks through the barriers of illiteracy and language, which have blocked so many for so long from the Good News. The JESUS film has been translated into more than 944 languages and shown in more than 228 countries. The JESUS Film Project is a ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ.
Historically, for every dollar invested, 10 people worldwide see the JESUS film and one person accepts Christ. Using these guidelines, we expect that more than 39 million people have viewed the film, and about 3.9 million people have made decisions for Christ through the gifts of Run for the Son! Since 1998, when this partnership in global evangelism began, CMA has given a total of $3,952,325 to The JESUS Film Project.
Missionary Ventures International began in 1983 and currently has seven offices in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Latin America, Australia, South Africa, and New Zealand. It sends mission teams and pioneers new missionary outreaches in over 60 different countries. Through these short-term mission trips, people have personally become involved in missions by sponsoring crusades, planting new churches, building new schools, developing clinics and hospitals, organizing feeding centers, orphanages, and Re-Nutrition centers for dying children.
Transportation is a strategic tool for world evangelism. Most native pastors working in jungles, mountain villages, and distant towns are limited to walking. Through Missionary Ventures, CMA has been supplying motorcycles, bikes, and other forms of transportation to native pastors and evangelists. Through Run for the Son’s gifts to Missionary Ventures, CMA has placed over 2600 motorcycles, 4200 bicycles, 2 boats, and 2 horses to pastors in over 80 countries. Over the past nineteen years, Run for the Son has donated $5,341,989 to Missionary Ventures International.
Open Doors, originally founded in 1955 by “Brother Andrew”, has over the years taken on the difficult task of taking Bibles to countries where other ministries do not go. By supplying Bibles to Christians, the churches are strengthened and countries can be changed from within, resulting in tremendous opportunities to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
CMA’s partnership with Open Doors is making a difference in the Persecuted Church! Through Run for the Son, Open Doors has been able to provide over 1.3 million Bibles! An example of how this is affecting people can be seen in China. Due to the shortage of Bibles, each Bible is generally used by 50 people. So this has the potential of touching millions of lives for Jesus Christ.
Over the past nineteen years, Run for the Son has donated $5,350,966 to Open Doors which has enabled them to purchase over 1,337,741.50 Bibles. These Bibles have been put into the hands of Christians who have prayed for a Bible for years.
